Your rude and disrecpectful replies to people who do not agree with your ideas is what gives atheists/ non-believers a bad name.

Name calling and a bad attitude does not make your points any more valid. It does, in fact, add weight to Jesus' words "They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me" (John 15:21). Just letting you know that you are fulfilling scripture.

Why don't you write a journal predicting just about everything that you can think of? In a few hundred years or so a lot of people will read your journal and think that you're a God because some of those predictions will have come true.

    Let me see here:

    Christianity as I understand it:

An all-knowing, all-powerful, benevolent deity decided that a portion of itself (but not itself) should take human form (born via a virgin) preach about itself for a bit and die by the hands of the then government. To what end? ...atone for humanity's collective sins.

    Have I got that right?

    You're kidding me, right?

I'm with you about the rudeness, it's unnescessary.

As far as guessing that one's religion may not be well received takes just a tiny bit of empathy. You got to figure some Jehovah's Witnesses have a fair idea they won't be well received that early Saturday morning, tie or no tie...

DUDE. Do you think if there was verifiable evidence of an actual prophecy in the Bible I would not know about it?

It would take me days of research to understand biblical prophesy enough to effectively refute it. I don't need to. Thousands of biblical scholars have done it for me. Not one has been able to present verifiable, specific evidence of a Biblical prophecy fulfilled in a manner that only an omnipresent being could. It they had, it would be one of the great discoveries of humanity. It would be like finding the remains of Noah's Ark and verifying it was as described in Genesis.

You first link describes Isaiah's 8th century prophecy of events that happened in the 5th century. The oldest known copy of the Book of Isaiah is the Dead Sea Scrolls which have been dated between the 3rd and 1st century BC. Unless you can produce a copy of the book of Isaiah older than the 5th century BC, you don't have a verifiable prophecy of 5th century events no matter how accurately they are described.

However, here's a few prophecies from Isaiah that we know didn't happen:

Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Damascus is still inhabited today with over a million people, and hardly a ruinous heap.

Isaiah 19:4-5 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts. And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

The river mentioned here is the Nile. The Nile is still one of Egypt's greatest natural resource.

Isaiah 19:18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

The Canaanite language has never been spoken in Egypt, and is now extinct.

Isaiah 52:1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

There are uncircumcised people living in Jerusalem even today.

Not everyone agrees that that is an accurate translation. I chose a site you couldn't declare to be a bunch of right wing nut jobs.

From the link provided as the source for this translation:

It is the Lord's will that for genuine Christianity to survive in America, the US must have a former Muslim as President. Moreover, Christians must also struggle under secular leaders and God-hating atheists. So it was not enough that most people had to accept that Christianity was a religion invented by Greeks and Barbarians, who used it to conquer the world and dispossess indigenous peoples of the world of their human rights, now we must also give up the truth that Eashoa (Jesus) was the true Msheekha (Messiah) prophesied by the Scriptures and that He is the Son of God who manifested Him in every way and that He is the only Salvation of humanity from slavery and ignorance.

Under atheism, the American universities have taken over the education of the children and the youth of America. Today, the American intellectual elite are celebrating the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin, the scientist who invented the Theory of Evolution and set the course for atheists to brainwash the world that the universe was created from a Dark Hole, with matter so compressed that the planets and stars exploded in a Big Bang and we came to evolve from organic matter accidentally over the course of millions and billions of years. Charles Darwin based this amazing discovery on his meticulous study of the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific, which incidentally are now being threatened by tourism, so we may never know the truth about the Theory of Evolution.

I read the link you posted, found links to the translation you quoted and a host of other sites that were contradictory. You post up a translation as THE proper translation and it is not regardless of your source.

I like reading this thread, there are so many old and new ideas, concepts, dictions, contradictions, truths, deceptions, and so on! Stuff about the Bible, Christianity and Islamics. Here we have the Big Bang Theory, Darwin, Black Holes and Dead Sea Scrolls, and stuff like that. Did anyone mention the Watchtower magazine? Well I'll just say one or two things today for your consideration: every now and then, usually after casual contemplation, I think that all of this (past and current activity by us humans) has happened over and over again for millions or hundreds of millions of years...build up, reach a certain point of growth and technology, and then poof- everything gone, must start up all over again!!! There has to be an explanation of this, so think about it and let me know, I mean, maybe all of the holy books and whatnot written by men over the centuries reflects this concern.

Well. That pretty well does it for me. I mean hell, if the Bible didn't predict Durrani wheels then it has failed the litmus test, and forever be looked upon as a false thingie. :)

Well now...notice how subsequent posts have passed over my reflections on the cyclical nature of human existence? Exactly as I thought; people are not ready to admit what I now know is the truth...that all of this present day shit has happened over and over again, for zillions of years!!! It stands to reason, therefore, that the Durrani Wheel was never meant for actual usage, it was a symbol of man's cyclical existence...no beginning, no end, just one big go-round and round and round...one of our own esteemed colleagues is leaving all civilization behind to venture into the mountains of Tibet with a host of Buddhist-Sherpa monks, searching for the meaning of the Hubless Wheel of Life, as symbolized by the Durrani Wheel cast in Thixomolded magnesium (without a hub).

In the face of this magnitude of events and timeless time, stetching way beyond all that we don't even know about, what significance are some pathetic scribblings of men?
