Anyone understand Duo-Therm Rooftop AC units?

Just picked one up from a friend for nuttin'

Neither he or I know if it works or not. The fan runs but I don't hear anything kicking in so maybe it needs work. But, its been below 60 degrees here lately and the manual says it has 65 degrees as its coldest temp.

Anyone know how to bypass the thermostat so I can see if it needs service or not?

    Cheers
    Bernie

It's cold only but you can buy an optional heater element.

It's an older Duo Therm, brisk air 579
    11,0000 btu.

I just figured I could bypass the thermostat somehow.

Not a good idea, if the freon is not allowed to expand back gas and liquid is introduced to compressor it will hydrolock and ruin compressor.
You would need to also use heater on the evaporator if u go this route.
