anyone have a first gen R1 engine???

    G2G I feel the need

    In need or a first gen R1 engine that is in good running condition. Please let me know if you have one. Doesn't matter where in the US it is.

    I found a nice bike but the engine is the issue. LOL Yeah I knew it would be tough finding an engine, but you never know who has what just laying around.

    My 01 track R1 (that was a salvage auction purchase) had a small continuous leak along the left side... where the upper and lower cases meet.
    After a handful of reapers that never solved the issue... I knew I either found another good engine... or split the cases.
    I picked up a 01 R1 for under a $1k... and have been making it my track toy.
