I learned several years after a skiing 'incident' that ribs can become 'displaced' from the cartilage in either the front or the back. I went for three weeks in constant pain and discomfort. After two days in a row having my chiropractor painfully repositioning them, I was 100% better.
I’m wondering if that’s what happened to me. When I coughed hard the other night I heard and felt a pop. It was as painful as day of but now the pain has really subsided.
I ended up going up friday morning with a buddy and we were about 5th chair on great western. Probably the best riding day of my life, definitely glad I went. Saturday and sunday kicked my ass with all the fresh powder, we did around 4 miles sunday and my average heart rate over 6 hours was in the 150's... haha I loved splitting as much as I thought I would though and I'm looking forward to getting out more for sure. I'm heading to the sedona MTB fest next month and then planning on driving my van up to salt lake and staying until the snow melts.
Excellent. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. It’s one of the great joys in my life these days. So glad winter came back for a bit. Got in about 5500 vert of untracked glory myself on Saturday.
No idea how much vert I did today, was demoing a few different sets of skis. Tomorrow is a day with my daughter after her ski school so going to try one last set of skis in the morning. pretty warm and mushy up here at Mammoth, but I don’t care, it’s pretty empty, skiing right into the lifts, wife is happy and having a blast so nothing to complain about. Now for the skis. Christ, I got on a set today and felt like I had no idea what I was doing. It may have been because the snow was heavy and mushy down low at the end of the day, or they were 100mm waists but damn they gave my legs a workout. I really liked the Salamon and Elans I rode. The Benchetlers weren’t fun at all, but maybe I was out of shape. Crazy how my legs are out of skiing shape, but I can snowboard off the top all day and it doesn’t bother me. But, with the kids and wife on skiiis I want to be able to help the kids up easier, etc. so going back to skiis for family trips. Overall, I just love being up here in the mountains and having fun with the family. The kids eat it up and my wife does too.
Stop this...stop this right now! I need to get skiing outta my head! It's summer time, time to get back to those things. PS, I bought a new pair of Rosinols just in time to hang them up for the year.....
