2025 CFMOTO 675SS | Sport Motorcyle (cfmotousa.com) I kinda like it.Looks gooder n hell to me. I've been looking at these guys for a while. Last 2 yrs they seem to be stepping up the quality. Glad to see another 675. Anyone tried to race a CFmoto yet? Like the Huyosung tried to do?
I know nothing about CFmoto, but we did not have fun racing the Hyosung. Stick to the major brands for the race track.
The Triumph 675 was 126hp? ,and cfmoto 95,so yea. I hadn't looked for any other comparisons.Prolly not any racy parts either for cfmoto. I still like its looks, and would throw it around on the street.Maybe it will get some closeout prices like the 450's have/had .
In comparison: 2025 CF Moto 675 - 95hp / 426lbs 2018 Triumph 675 - 126hp / 406lbs 2021 MV Agusta 675 - 128hp / 381lbs Obviously the price is also wildly better, but I can't imagine it being competitive in racing the classes it would qualify for. In comparison for a stock middleweight class, with an old 2008 R6 having 124hp (I don't remember exactly) and around 365lbs, the CF Moto is way off. Prob still a fun bike for the money for the street if you're not looking to get to intense.
That shows how much I even look.I did not realize MV even had a 675? I try not to window shop..ever! I always fall in love with things I can not,or should not buy. That was my problem working for 3 different dealerships, I never brought any money home, and always buying bikes.
You are comparing it to bikes NOT in it's class - why? This 675SS is to match up to Yamaha's R7, Triumph's 660 Daytona, Suzuki's GSX8R, and Honda's CBR650 - now run the same stats on those bikes and get back to us with valid info... It's not built to be competitive in Supersport - it's a comfy streetbike for peanuts thats loaded with tech - it's CFmoto's halo project that they'll likely lose money on every one they sell but it's whay smaller/newer companies do to increase brand awareness and customer confidence, plus give dealers something they can be proud to sell - alongside their Ibex ADV bikes which are getting rave reviews as are their 4-wheelers. I'm seriously considering buying one in January when they hit my local dealership - the only real negative about it so far that I can see is a VERY easy fix - they come stock with an unknown brand of tires (CST) which are apparently horrible so they'd be peeled off and replaced with a proper set of tires. Also my dealer has confirmed that the freight/pdi on these bikes is $625 vs ALL other brands starting at $1,400 and go up to $2,100 here on some. Also - this 675SS was neutered to meet Euro licensing reg's so it's 105hp was dropped to 95hp - so with a flash/tune it'll free up the final 1500rpm that CF has had to close down to get it to peak at 95 ponies. Also - the F3 675 had a wet/curb weight of 408lbs - not the claimed weight you listed.
OP asked about racing it. The response was to motorcycles of equal displacement and cylinders. You proceed to compare it to a variety of motorcycles not of equal displacement and cylinders. I'm confused.
I'll agree that he asked if anyone has raced a CFmoto yet (only in Moto3 that I've seen which is similar to the Husky in that it's a tweaked KTM under the fairings) - maybe I missed the intent of his post and am wrong - that happens all too often for sure. I compared it to all other bikes in it's class - the main one being the Aprilia RS660 which I missed mentioning originally. The CFmoto would be a Twins bike not a Supersport bike IF it were to apply to get homologated vs the two defunct 675's Luke referred to which would have also been SS bikes and not twins bikes and both of which cost almost double what the CFmoto does.
I personally was just throwing it against the wall so to speak.I liked the 450's,but not enough to buy one. The 675 looks great! I just don't know diddly about any of the 675's. (notice to other's..I didnt pretend to know something like most do) It would tickle me to see some new blood, even if its just club racing! I love the MV's but my wallet aint that deep to test the water. I made that mistake ONCE! I bought a beautiful TM 250 exotic, and little to no dealer support, and sold it for a huge loss, after it developed a oil leak from shitty factory cases.
I have superficial knowledge about the motorcycle, at best. In fact, less. But I pay attention to displacement and cylinders. So I'm not sure what class of motorcycle the OEM intended the bike to be compared to, but, by the numbers, equal cylinders and displacement is what I'd compare it to. The bikes you compared it to would all be underdogs by the standard of displacement and cylinders. If that's where they are marketing it, ok. If that's where you're benchmarking it, ok. But apples to apples, you've got an orange. Put it this way, would you think it would be fair if they homologated a defunct 675 MV or Triumph into twins?
Club racing would make it even harder to performance index a machine. Not impossible, but ... annoying at best. Not my clown and not my circus. If you like the motorcycle, buy it. Ride it on the street or race it or park it in your sitting room because you like the way it looks. I was responding to your question regarding racing it and the corresponding replies.
Just outta boredom/looking.The 675,450,and 300 new models look better than any of the top 4 class, so the cfmoto is pleasing to the eye for a newb that wants to dip a toe in.They also got 5th in Paris Dekar last year. I think they will eventually get a better foot hold, provided they can keep costs down, and Tech up
I was in no shape or form referring to you,or anyone for that matter about knowledge of bikes or class, just in general from hanging out here. There have been countless underdogs in club racing. The Fz600,Ducati 900,Katana 600,fzr600 vs Hondas F3. Just as a quick pull from my memory, and personal experiences. Its irrelevant in todays world with electronics, but all those mentioned above won with ringers on them.My first glimpse for example,of Jamie hacking as a novice. He kicked the shit outta everyone at the GNF as a novice on a dookie yellow fzr600.Wasnt anyone beating up the F3's on no piggy FZR 600 back then..but sure as shit, this new novice was!!
Appreciated. I could put a better racer on a variety of shitty motorcycles that could beat "average" racers on better motorcycles, so maybe we're not grading on the same curve. My intent in racing is to be competitive. Within rules, of course. If we ever raced "up", it was with the understanding that we were not on equal machines and we were chasing times.
I think the main issue here is the CFmoto is a TRIPLE. That performance out of a twin would be acceptable, but I don't see anyone just overlooking the number of cylinders when it comes to racing. As I said, for a street bike, for that price, I'm sure it's a fun ride.
Speaking of putting riders on bikes… are you not working at NJ this weekend? Saw a bunch of the other East Coast old school wrenches and dudes on the stream today.. If so good luck Mike, and have fun… it’s been a good bit since our paths have crossed…
I know in the ATV world CFmoto has gained a ton of traction and market with just the fact that they provide a 5yr warranty, vs most being 6 months to a year.
