2017 MGP post season thread

Mmmkay; the 2017 season is over and time to review:

1. Biggest surprises?

I'm thinking Zarco's speed, and Dovi's speed and wins on the Duc...


2. Biggest disappointments?

JLo on the Duc. Mav on the Yamaha.

I was surprised at how long it took Lozenge-o to get that risotto steamer circulating the track at Dovi's pace. Guy has the personality of a narcoleptic insomniac, but the fucker can roll.

Disappoint for sure is Mav's coming out the gate swinging and after landing a couple punches, knocking his nutsack clean off his body.

I was sad to see Petrux get nipped and miss out on his first win. Same for Zarco, despite him being French.

Suzuki's results were disappointing. KTM, impressive.

 

Surprised that the 2017 Yamaha was such a pile of junk.

Conclusion :MV25 shouldn't have left Suzuki.

 

Surprise: Zarco, Dovizioso, the KTM (in both moto2 and motogp), Petrucci.

Disappointment: Iannone

 

How many on here claimed Lorenzo would win at least one race? Raise your hands so we can make fun of you.

I was impressed by Petrucci, Zarco and at times the KTM.

Riders I would like to see disappear into obscurity?

2017 is over.
-Maverick does indeed suck and he's not even likable at all.
-Pedrosa was either really good or uber terrible.
-Rossi has adamantium in his body.

2018: Rossi 10x World Champion or Marquez 7x world champion. I know I'm going out on a limb here.

 

Vindaloo got 3 wins, around half a dozen podiums and finished third in the champeeeeenship, how is that sucking?

 

he just sucked a little less than the others. With his start, it seemed that everyone gave him the championship. So I guess the expectations were high. His attitude is worse than the Janitor, so I'm ok with him not winning anything and pretty much going backwards.

 

Type A personalities not winning clearly due to inferior equipment and they don't have a right to have attitude? That's comical right there. I'm sure I can find the threads with Rossi bitching about Ducati and you would have said the same about him right?

 

Maverick bitches when someone passes him in Free Practice. He bitches when his eyes blink. Has nothing to do with inferior equipment. It's just who he is.....a whiner.

 

I'm quite sure Lin Jarvis will take your opinion into consideration when it's time to renew Viñales' contract next year

 

If Zarco has another year that's better than Maverick, I'm sure Jarvis will finally listen to me. The same way he listened to me and brought Rossi back

 

I thought Lorenzo would win the opener in Qatar.

 

Not if they throw Zarco on the 2017 frame.

 

So the 3rd fastest guy keeps his seat but let's swap the 1 and 2?

 

Not really a surprise but some of Marquez's Saves this year were incredible.... I know we say Edwards, Hayden, Rossi do a few over the years but Holy Hell the ones that Marc did this season alone were off the charts...

Why would MM have a yellow fan section?
