this is his first snow after bringing him north from the gulf many years ago… he’d never come inside when it was snowing in all of his 14 years

Not much is more effective than a 2 year old Aussie mix and a 9 month old Aussie working together to destroy the house.

 

So I never posted any of the new guy. First one is the horde (company) next is Ian and the new pup my friend got (reason for the horde being there) Ian thought the puppy was the greatest thing EVER! I had to hold him at first as he was so wound up he was hyperventilating and scaring the puppy. Once brought down a notch it was game on for a couple hours while the older dogs watched (the bi-black joined in for a while then passed out on the porch)

This is him in the same spot, with the same look, 14 years later when I ask him to come inside… I put a coat on and sat in the snow with him… like always

He went to the vet today. 67.4 pounds. He’s up about 15 since we got him. You cannot see his ribs anymore. And he’s a happy boy livin his best life.

Aussie/Great Pyrenees. She seems to have drawn mostly from the big dog genes, but mom was an Aussie.

 

I guess I have never posted my pups in this thread. These are our Aussies, 4.5 year old Lyra (merle) and 5 year old Maverick (black tri). Lyra is a crazy girl and full of energy while Maverick is the most laid back, chill Aussie I've ever met. They are perfect ying and yang to each other.

Unfortunately, Maverick was diagnosed with inherited epilepsy two weeks ago after having his second seizure (that we know of) in a span of 1.5 years. This weekend was tough though as he had a seizure on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The ER vet ended up starting him on anti convulsion medication and he has been fine since. We have a follow up with our vet tomorrow morning and will be getting a referral to see a neurologist to rule out tumors.

 

We had an epileptic golden retriever when I was young. He took medication and it was no big deal. He lived a long time.

They are all unique in their own way, we've had hounds forever. This is #7 thru the years along with #5 and 6 right now. Couple more coming up.
