endurance team dues stolen by lone wolf cycles, help us please.

Hey, this is Scott Harwood-- a well respected and liked racer in all the orgs I've raced with. I was going to keep my mouth shut up to this point about Dave's operation, but his latest posts put me over the edge.

If this were the first time Dave took advantage of a situation I could understand, but this is now the second year in a row. The problem is born out of many disfunctions-- up to and including chronic lying, bad character, double talking, tap dancing, no organizational skills and a completely skewed view of his reality and participation in life and how it affects other people.

It took me several weeks to get my money back from dave, although my situation was different... I had a full ride come along and he released me from the team, but my deposit, which according to contract was due me, was extremely slow in getting back to my pocket. It took me personally confronting him to get what was due me-- and that was after many stall tactics. My biggest problem with his "effort" that year was the misapropriation of the funds we gave to him on a race-by-race basis. Most of the time the money was used on other things outside of racing, such as his personal bills. Not cool.

I truly hope dave gets professional help, because I honestly don't know if he realizes what he is doing or how he is ripping people off.

I also truly hopes he stays away from the honest and hard working friends and family in our racing community that I have had the fortune to meet.

Nobody should deal with him on any level-- for those of you who haven't, you are fortunate; if you have, learn from the mistake and move on as a smarter person.

 

Why can't you bust your ass at a regular job and make money to support your racing instead of swindle people like a freakin' pimp with some bling chains in your overcoat???

Interesting, in that it took all of this 'commentary', some of which suggested
the physical approach (nothing like a good workout!), to get this individual to
respond...now that he has written his intentions, perhaps it is time to allow him to at least go through the motions, if that offer he made has been accepted by the damaged parties..."fooled once, shame on you, fooled twice, shame on me." I think people who do what this guy did don't originally
intend to do wrong, but along the way, when it is obvious that things ARE going wrong, they rationalize matters and twist and turn the facts to support
their self-indulgence..let the consumer beware!

 

ok, well since this thread is about dave cross, i want to update it with any developments as he works to rectify the situation. so, i received 300 bucks out of the 1500 he owes me. thanks dave.



and dude, ive been waiting all year, please dont spend 15 bucks each time you want to send me some dough to get it to me overnight- 39 cents will get it to me in a couple days, which is fine with me. thanks again, and i look forward to your next envelope!

I got the final payment today. Dave gave back the full $1500. I don't know if Kris has been paid in full or not.

ahhhh good to see you here rob when i was coming to post up the same thing. yep im all payed now. i know you guys arent all holding your breath to hear it, and some of you might use it a a chance to knock dave some more, but anyway i got all my $$$ back.

in the dudes defense, i think he planned to do the whole season, spent the money we sent him in preparation for that, and then when it ended abruptly, he was in a tough spot owing $$$ to us unexpectedly. i cant say what i would have done in his shoes because i wasnt in them, but it sounds like a tight spot.
