This came yesterday. I ordered it over a year ago. I’m impressed so far. It’s incredibly light and I like the modern design. It’s not the most useful gmt function, but it’s kinda cool that it has it. You can read about it here (with the expected Hodinkee narcissistic comments). https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-ming-2201-gmt-just-in-time-for-getting-back-up-in-the-air
lug to lug. the curved leather end is appealing for a dress watch. Is the dial made of cork? The texturing gives it that appearance.
18mm The dial is metal with some sort of layered finish. I like it. The dial (whole watch really) has a luxury vibe. I think if you spent the same amount on a Tag Heuer, Nomos, etc you wouldn’t get anything nicer. I liked the idea of messing with a microbrand.
Definitely a cool retro vibe. Not sure I love the crown but overall pretty cool. I've always wanted to get a few funky vintage watches to add to the fleet and this gives me a similar feeling.
This popped up - Kenny Wayne Shepherd collaboration only 50 made. https://chronoswiss.com/en/US/produ...4UJt79JuNY6HBDxl_yAP73IpxGiet36hoCJigQAvD_BwE
And this is available right now in Philipsburg Sint Martin.... dang it... https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgj261g
Got to see and touch a Richard Mille over the weekend. True insanity and I refused to ask it’s worth and handed it back as quickly as I could. The owner tried buying my 007 off my wrist so that unpuckered my butthole after looking at the RM. No idea on the model.
ugly/gaudy overpriced watch worn by dudes with lambos, affliction shirts and spray tans. But some of the movements are choice.
New corvette, golf clothes and white new balances but yeah, not my style of watch but it was cool to see.
I have a feeling they'll be pretty valuable in a decade or so. Not Submariner valuable, but probably not $300 either.
My 007 strap finally broke. Trying to decide if I just go OEM or get something different. Uncle Seiko has some good options. Thoughts? @ChemGuy or @Dave K ?
I can appreciate them but doubt I'd ever own one.. perhaps if there was a B in front of illions in my acct. Creative, high tech very cool watches though.
Mine is still on the stock (now disgusting) rubber strap. Just haven’t put the effort into putting it on the killah natos that came with it. Eventually, maybe, if I get around to it.
If that watch was a ghey ass lacrosse stick it would have carbon fiber errythang and unicorn horn trim. And shit. Cmon man. Get your priorities right
I like it stock. No idea why but leaving it alone makes me smile (and my kid won’t steal it because she doesn’t like the strap).
