Point taken. I would say the same for Mr Rea but he seems to punt others when he gets the mind to. GG may have to swap paint in this series.
It's been made pretty clear WSBK is a contact sport. Unfortunately GG went a smidgen overboard a little too soon and got his nuts clipped. I'd like to see that fire back in him, just a little more controlled.
Anyone who knows this needs to get me Lotto numbers asap! It seems that Bautista can simply wait and ride past on the long straights. Everyone else needs to get their elbows out and make bold moves to execute passes.
I'd like to see GG on a Ducati factory team but the BMW team looks promising. It's got a beast of an engine so maybe GG can sort out the suspension.
Jake's comments on the day are here: Gerloff Third, Gagne 19th On Day One In Portuguese World Superbike Round - MotoAmerica Kayla's here: Yaakov Qualifies In The Top 10 In Portimao - MotoAmerica
That's what my father in law in Florida does...but if you have never been to Portugal and the Algarve region then you realize real quick the language is nothing like Spanish.
Are these races going to be available on the pass this weekend? If I had to put money on a highest finishing American at Portimao this weekend, it'd probably be her.
Was there tire/engine testing involved for Attack before they left for Portimao? Or could they not do that? Love Jake but seems like the team possibly bit off more than they could handle or am I hopefully dead wrong?
They had a one-day test at Button Willow (I think), but conditions weren't great, and they didn't get much useful track time from what I understand.
They did some tire testing at Buttonwillow IIRC. I've been saying all along they'll be fighting to score points. Jake & team are awesome, but WSBK is awesome on a global scale.
Anyone remember when that Eye-talyan stepped on to that Japanese bike for the first time in Buriram and was 2.1 to 1.5sec off the pace throughout the weekend. At 2.1 and 2.0 from the point on his first day, I think that Merican Kid is doing alright.
It is amazing that she qualified in the top 10, with the next to slowest trap speed. Who knows how she would have done if she had one of those cheater motors the faster kids had.
