Good point, didn’t consider the size. 40mm isn’t a problem for me either.

Watch Material is great, I used to do tons of Seiko builds and found them to be a good source. For example, they have always sold OEM handsets for ~$30, where as others were charging $50-75 for the harder to find stuff. They do take a long time to ship in my experience.

That bracelet is usually available on Amazon as well, same price but next day shipping. I have one sitting in a drawer if anyone is interested.

My brother is turning into the king of the Seikos. Buys some weird, “special edition” as soon as his dealer gets it in. :D he missed out on the 007s. :D

but he killed me today. Got a ‘70s exp II for pennies (like stole it).

anyways, he hit me with the ultimate watch geek question and I thought I’d throw it up here because you’re all insane: 5 + 1 watches you lust after and you’d be happy with forever. :)

I picked up a Spinnaker Dumas recently. Nice watch. Seiko guts, sandblast finish, but the included band was terrible - mesh but without a deployment clasp and no way to shorten it. Even with the current state of shipping, it arrived in 3 days from HK.

Man, I think about this all the time. In some ways I already have my 5+1, but they probably aren't "forever". I often think about selling some things and going for a few crazy watches. If I were to do a dream 5+1 right now it would probably be -

    White gold Rolex Daytona
    Platinum ALS Zeitwerk Minute Repeater
    PP Nautilus 5740 perpetual calendar
    FP Journe Chronometre a Resonance
Stainless AP Royal Oak flying tourbillon

+1 One of the G Shock Mr G models

I really like those hamilton khaki's but I wanted a watch a little bigger than 40mm. Didn't want to break the bank either. I've had this for about 4months now, really really like the silicon strap with the deployant buckle and overall super happy with it. Originally thought the clear case back was cool, but in hindsight, totally pointless as I never ever see it because the watch never comes off my wrist. My first automatic watch. Overall very happy and paid $650

I’m trying to do my list but it changes every 10 minutes or so. :D
I’ll post it up once I get it down and it’s not all “sports” watches.

So right now, here’s my list:
Rolex GMT Pepsi metal bezel. Series/ year? I’m open.
IWC pilot chrono. Black face on leather strap.
IWC aquatimer Cousteau blue/ orange face. Stupid Mayer ruined this one, they were selling for $3k until he showed his. He’s a dickhead! Lol a newer aquatimer would fill in here.
A Panerai. Probably a gmt. I miss my last Panerai but it has a great home.
    Omega snoopy reissue.
FP Journe. The base one (1304?). This is the toughest choice.

Plus one? Seiko 007 or an older tag F1 with a rubber strap. I Don’t know? Maybe one of those swatch omegas. Something fun and stupid maybe?

this is way tougher than I thought. :D

Damnit! You brought up omega and now my list is changing again! :D

I have a 300m gmt and it was my travel watch for almost a decade. Went all around the world (except for Brazil) and it needs repairs and I’ve seldom looked at it lately but, I’d sell my sub before it and I’m never selling my sub. :D

I went to buy a pepsi gmt but that was the year that they tried switching over to the ceramic bezel (black only) and there was none. I ordered a “coke” but when it came in it wasn’t what I ordered. I grabbed the omega because it was waaaaay cheaper and was better quality.

it’s the watch my kid will get next year. :)
