It's a shame the video was on a wet rack. I'd really love to see what this bike/engine could do with some proper W$BK/motogp level chassis and electronic support and development. I'm curious as to where this evolution is right now on the total potential scale of development. The piston ICE is pretty far along right now, and we know where that is. What more gains could be had is a pile of money and smarty pants engineers were thrown at it.
Pros: 1)Comparatively large displacement for physical size. 2)Make a cool exhaust sound... 3)That's about it Cons: 1)Displacement for homologization, racing, etc. purposes open to some discussion. 2)Very hot exhaust (although that can be mitigated) 3)Poor fuel economy 4)High emissions due to combustion chamber shape, exhaust temps. (That was the killer.) 5)Even with low parts count, assembly of short block is 'challenging'. Props to Brian anyway for persisting. If you really want one there are Suzuki RE-5's still kicking around. The first year is more desireable because of the weird looking instrument pod/taillight, although the second year is better looking by not having the weird looking instrument pod/taillight.
