I rewatched race 2 from Sonoma last night and the announcers said something similar about how the series being discussed at all in Europe again is a huge deal.
More speculation... http://www.bikesportnews.com/news/news-detail/melandri-in-frame-for-motoamerica-switch
I bet that might be changing now. As much as I'd like to see one of the kids get that ride, melandri getting it (or even being speculated to be in the running) has been a shot in the arm the series can't help but need.
The guy has won races and collected podiums this year. If he comes here on one of the best bikes and starts getting beat by Beaubier, Gerloff, Herrin, etc. that would make a HUGE statement to the teams on the world stage.
Yeap, and I hope he does. I am not a fan of him but for the sake of the series and the riders in it I hope he gets the ride with Yosh or Yamaha. . . and then gets his ass handed to him.
I feel like the Beeb is going to will this Melandri thing into existence. Then bitch about it for the rest of time.
You do realize AI29 is about to go end his GP career at Aprillia right? AI factory Duc in Moto America 2020
I think they should gives Hayes a test and see what he can do on the bike. If they like Melandri see if he can go faster than Hayes, I am pretty sure that Josh would have owned him 5 years ago, maybe he still can.
We need the ride to go to the best young talented rider that is already in the Motoamerica paddock. I just don't understand what is the big deal with sending an American to race overseas Wouldn't it be great to have a strong series here?
