New Summit Rumor...

I hear its being completely repaved in March.

Anyone know anything more?

 

Yeah, they contracted bumpy road paving to get the job done. Same company they used last time.

 

Hopefully they run cars on it the day after it's paved so that T1 and the entire back section ends up like tar and chip

Keep in mind that Wood did set the track record, again, on that bumpy, crappy track. Makes me feel slow just talking about it.

 

I hate these threads more then I hate the threads about the latest pipe dream track that's opening up in someones back yard....

 

They're putting concrete patches in T1, and T5-T8.

 

I heard they're doing the whole track in concrete

 

that would actually be fine with me! Would be nice to have the same track from week to week.

Heard it from a VERY solid source that it was indeed true.. soil samples, core samples, the whole shebang has already been done.. SUPPOSED to be done properly as well.. shutting it down for a full 3 weeks to allow for a proper cure time.. HOWEVER I was told on another board that the project was cancelled.. I heard on Sunday afternoon, so it is possible that they pulled the plug yesterday I guess..

 

I've heard the same thing except for the pulling the plug part.

Finger crossed it gets done and done right.

 

So this would be before our race there? Doesnt matter to me...I have never raced there regardless....

 

I'm opening a half pipe in my backyard...

Summit point rumors are like assholes; everybody has one. I'll believe it when I see it, but I sure as hell won't hold my breath.
Still, if Grattan is getting repaved, anything can happen.

That's actually what happened last time. I ran into one of the pavers at Wendy's in Charles Town.
