Oh, ok. But you working isn't important, and he should be expected to interrupt and distract you from what you're doing. Sounds smat.
I remember when I was just starting my charity ride for the Duke Children's Hospital. Scott Carpenter and I walked around the paddock at VIR, which happened to be the last race that season, to solicit donations for the charity auction that happens alongside the ride, and Kurtis Roberts gave me a set of his leathers, and talked Duhamel into donating a set (which I'm told was extremely rare, Duhamel was very superstitious about giving away his leathers) to the cause. Then, believe it or not, when the ride happened about a month later, Kurtis flew, on his own dime, from California to NC to ride with us, and actually rode my personal Harley that day in the ride. Kurtis is good people. I believe his side of the story without hesitation.
My wife works with a lot of celebs and pro athletes and so far there is only one that she said had an attitude. She was on the Ghostbusters set and literally ran into Chris Hemsworth coming out of a door and said he was the sweetest guy ever. Peyton also gets extremely high marks for being an incredibly nice guy.
Sounds like "pot meet kettle". They are probably both bone heads in their own way. Too bad both of them couldn't rise above that before the whole thing went to shit.
I got stuck sharing a hotel room with kurtis years ago. That dude is 100% tool 24/7. The next day we are at the airport and he walks up to the security guy and tells him I have a bomb. Good times.. Not
Kenny Roberts saw me at Siebkens once. We made eye contact, and he didn't buy me a beer, despite the fact that my beer was obviously empty. F#cking asshole.
He obviously thought you were the wait staff and were simply carrying the empty glass back to the dishwasher. Sheesh.
Not even close. I just respect someone's space in public if that person is a public figure. That comes from years of working with public figures. I take my cues from them. If they care to be personable, then they will be. If they appear as though they want to be left alone, I leave them alone. I make no excuses for my professional demeanor.
One bone head can drag the other down and around if lawyers are involved. Try being the only reasonable party in a divorce and see where that takes you...
God help him if I'm in front of Broome at an airport. Slow, deliberate and unbalanced would be required... Just to poke the bear. However, don't be in front of Mongo on his way to the Pie line...
