I used to do a lot of crossword puzzles. Often, when you are stumped like this, one of the intersecting answers is wrong. It may seem correct, but see if there is another answer that makes sense. Also, I can't even come up with a word that fits in there, so it could be a place name. The clue could be wrong, also. Could it be lives instead of waves? Or what two-bit waves?
