So killing a baby when you don't like the dad is okay but not if you like him? What about date rape? You just beat the baby up a little? This is one I've never gotten. Either it's a kid and life is sacred or it's a lump of cells and can be disposed of. I don't see how anyone who is of the belief that it's a kid as soon as the egg and sperm hookup can accept killing one but not another.
All hell is going to break loose when they figure out how to the entire thing in a lab. Prescreening will move to a whole new level.
I don't see the difference in the intent: you swallow that pill the next day because of a "mistake" you made too. And in those cases where there was indeed fertilization, the difference with a "mechanical" abortion should be negligible (if you are anti-choice) from a moral standpoint.
good points. didn't claim to know the answers, but i know stopping a life you've created for no other reason than selfishness is wrong. what can i say. i'm not changing my opinion. i know that if my brother's wife had gotten an abortion, i wouldn't have madison, or my brand new niece grace. i agree to disagree. you won't catch me yelling at young girls outside a clinic any time soon either.
I'm glad we finally brought up the morning after pill (plan b), AMA would like this to be over the counter, but some neo-con in the FDA made it precription only. Now there are some Pharms not dispensing it, citing moral issues. What good is a morning after pill, if it takes weeks to see your doctor?
I really did it more to mess with my Catholic school teachers and the whack job students they conned into protesting. They never knew exactly what to do when they saw me escorting one of the girls in on a Saturday morning. Things got real quiet for some reason... Best one was signing up to catch the bus from school during the week with the protest crew - which got us a free pass out of school for the day - then going in to help.
So what do y'all think about GWB and the righties pressuring the FDA to indefinitely delay OTC approval of "Plan B", despite the FDA advisory panels recommendations for approval? Evangelicals telling the FDA what drugs to approve; is this how you want your government to work?
