The new gig is going great; a bit intimidating though. Biopharma is serious stuff. Lots and lots of cool things going on at the site. It’s been a while since I’ve been in the bio side of pharma, but it’ll all come back to me. Plus, I’m helping to make patient’s lives better by helping to bring new and better meds to market. That makes me feel good.
Money does not buy happiness. Happiness can actually make you money. You're doing the right thing. Rich or poor, if you're smiling at the end of the day, you did good.
Congrats! I'm hoping to "fuck you, fuck you, you're cool, fuck you, and fuck you" to my work later this week. Waiting on a job offer. Really not challenged at my current gig and the politics suck.
There's a day you wake up and you just can't do it anymore. Quality of life, no family time if you do it, you'll be dead by the end of the year because you'll burn the candle at both ends and blow torch the middle or just chasing the money carrot while you're getting the stick. Sometimes you need to just say f@ck it, f@ck you and sleep in.
Before you left the old job, did you: 1). Leave an upper-decker in the toilet? 2). Leave a landshark in the same? A). If both 1 & 2 were completed, was it a solo mission or did you have a(n) assistant(s)? You are a shark, after all.
A land shark is when you fill the bowl with toilet paper, preferably a whole roll ... and then poop on it. Extra points if you have friends to help, even if it means you have to go in there last.
Funny story. One boisterous Saturday evening at Denny's during the drunk shift (after the bars close) some prankish fellow pulled the toilet in the men's room out of the floor, and then other patrons continued to use it so by the time I discovered it, it was the land shark to end all land sharks. The dishwasher I chose to deal with it grabbed a bucket and emptied the toilet with his bare hands. No shit. That place was a laugh a minute.
I went to college. I know most of you have never been, but it’s a great experience and you learn a lot. College was great.
