I thought the whole point of gender reassignment was to get rid of the offending plumbing and surgically transform the body into what the mind believes it should be.

Doesn't that de facto mean sterilization? Or do people want to just pretend to be the other gender for a while but keep the option of going back if they change their mind?

From what I've read, being a tranny doesn't always equate with gender reassignment. For a long time Bruce Jenner was still walking around with his tallywhacker under that dress. I don't think it was until like last year that he actually had it lopped off. In the current progressive year you can just decide your a man today and a female tomorrow and still have all your bits and bobs you were born with.
