I have a question for anyone that actually knows the answer. I have been received some conflicting information. I am in the process of building a 06 SV 650 motor with hi comp stock bore pistons, rods, balanced crank, lightened flywheel, etc.... I am racing in Colorado (roughly 5280 ft in elevation). I am attempting to figure out if the bored throttle body modification is worth it at this altitude or not as I have heard both good and bad due to the lack of air up here. Does anyone have any real world data on the subject? Thanks Joe
The air density is less at altitude for sure but that doesnt mean that you want any less volume. A cubic foot is still a cubic foot, that cubic just has less oxygen in it. We have only ran stock but will run bored everywhere next season.
