Can you add a thicker weight oil to a stock steering damper on a 2005 suzuki 600 to make it work for the track? If so what should I use?

yes you can....try 20 weight. Use fork oil.

The idea is to eliminate any air from the damper by refilling it while its completly submerged in oil. I took an empty big plastic pop bottle, leave the cap on...cut out the side of the bottle and fill the bottle with oil. (bottle it laying on its side) Make sure you have room for both your hands and the damper in the oil...Pump the damper several through its range of stroke while submerged in oil so it can completly fill with oil and pump out air.

Install fill cap/screw and your good to go.
