Disorientation is a sign of rabies. Be very careful.

My house is surrounded by wabbits!

The other day (in daylight) one ran out from the shed TOWARD my car as I pulled into the driveway.

    Could be.

Maybe he was the one I gave the carrot to last week.

More likely distemper as was mentioned earlier.

Which means one thing...let animal control take care of it.

The one four legged creature I've ever emptied a mag into was a distemper coon. Middle of the day walking around like an extra in Walking Dead with no regard for me being near him.

    Problem solved.
As for distemper or rabies. He ate and shat pellets, not diarrhea, so I think he is wasn't sick. I know more about raccoons than I ever thought would. They are typically euthanized without question by animal control and rehab centers around here don't want them.
He was awake and alert and wanted out of the cage this morning.
I left him on the north bank of the Potomac River.

    That raccoon did not survive.

Recidivism is low on that crime.
