Doesn't take much of a hacker, when a good portion of the SCADA systems that control the regional grids worldwide, have their passwords set at factory defaults. Wasn't that long ago that we embraced Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) protocols here, prior to that, if one had access, they could pretty much guess the passwords, or simply bypass them, with a bit of system knowledge. We're still heavily vulnerable when you look at our super-critical transmission locations.
There was a story on the radio yesterday about hacking the grids, Russia has shutdown ukraine for testing their malware, they have malware in out systems, and we have malware in their systems.
