RIP. I raced with him once at Daytona. (Or, more accurately, he blew past me in NT4 like I had thrown out an anchor.) Such a great character. He will ne missed.
RIP The man had style, and was wicked fast...when he kept it on 2 wheels. Checkers or wreckers. Lived a lot of life while he was doing it, too.
Found another pic, from 1969, Yvon (5) with my hero Ron Pierce. 27 is Ron Gould. Daytona 1969. First saw Ron race at Carlsbad in the late 60's when we lived in San Fernando Valley. Actually met up with him in the early 2000's compliments of JU. I got them together at Sear Point during that same trip. JU used to crash in Ron's hotel rooms when he was early in his publishing career.
Raced with him @ Roebling in 92 with AHRMA. Godspeed. That was one year they ran the BMW legends at Daytona
Met him I think it was 2002 at VIR the afternoon Nicky won the Superbike Championship. Saw a little dog on my walk into the pits from my camp site, Mini Schnauzer...so I stopped to give the pup, I believe her name was Daisy, a little scratch behind the ears. Some old dude was sitting by her with a beer in his hand in a lawn chair. We started chatting, and I heard the Canadian accent and looked up to see an "Old Miguel" talking to me and realized it was Miguel's Dad! VERY cool. RIP, Sir...enjoyed talkin' with you that day.
