Some more good news today.....Fram has stepped up to the plate and every Challenge entrant will receive a new Fram PH6018 oil filter for their SV. Pretty cool.... An awesome gesture on their part. Thanks Fram. Russell Masecar
Good, I've been using the same filter for 2 years. Could use a new one. Boner powered SVs, way of the future.
Not in this thing, but definitely watching it! A few fan questions: Will someone with some skill be on the PA to call this race? No idea if Mr. Microphone goes to VIR. Any chance of making it 8 laps? 10, 12? I know DSS & FSS are gridded with this, so maybe split them to their own race? If some fan wanted to "sweeten the pot" with $50 or so, whether to the winner or the whole field, just find Russell?
It will be 8 laps. If the grid is too full once all the entries are in they will split DSS and FSS off for their own race There is always an announcer calling the races. No idea who Just find Russell if you wish to do something. If you don't know where to find him, ask anyone!
Ha ha... Where's the old school days when Dan Schmitt's team Chicago public broadcast was active? They used to play his shows on WTTW channel 11 public access in Chicago. Typically it was documentary / summary of weekends at Grattan. Will you be mine Eddie? . I'll bring my really nice Yosh Umbrella and I'm sure you will look stunning standing underneath it.
There's always someone making the 1,2,3d calls, but not necessarily calling the action. Schedule shows all races 6 laps.
I've said repeatedly the race will be 8 laps, you can actually trust me on that, I kind of make those calls. I'm not sure if we have an announcer or not, VIR is in an odd part of the country for us so not always easy to get people there (and they have other things going on too). I will switch races 4 & 13 on Sunday now I'm back in the office and have time to look things over.
Not really, that's the entire point of using it as a Q session, you're just looking to get a better spot than you had, you don't need to push it stupid hard to get that accomplished.
http://maps.wera.com/pdfs/2008Schedules/vir080215a.pdf I am leaving the laps off on purpose still as I fully expect to have to split the class out from the others and don't want to confuse them.
