G-friend smoked her 1999 California R6 head cam journals. Its a carbureted model used for the street. So I'm putting on a 49 state head assy today and wanted to ask if there are any secrets to how/what to pull off regarding the vapor emissions. I already had to remove the 'octopus' which was mounted to the lower engine case behind the radiator. Looks like it routed gas tank and air box vents into exhaust ports for the Cali model. What else can come off?? More things to plug or reroute??? Tanks Indy [email protected]
You do know the tach is different, right? The cali only revs to 14.5k but the 49-state model revs to 15.5k... also the rear sprocket is different. Search on the R6messagenet for more info.
