When removing the line from the bottom of the tank there is typically no pressure. The last time I removed the line it had significant pressure shooting fuel pretty far when disconnecting. Is there a valve at the fuel pump that should allow the pressure to drop when off?

don't think there's a valve, but the psi will drop in time. just takes awhile. did this a lot when racing mine. at end of day, i'd disconnect fuel line so all the mr12 would drain out of the fuel line. then pour in non-e gas, and run for a good bit, then fog the motor through the air box down the v-stacks going form cyl to cyl quickly, then shut bike off.
If i hadn't ran the bike in a while after races, there was nearly no blast of fuel when i take the line off.
