I don't know if I'm being unreasonable, or just lazy, but I don't edit my shots. Maybe to shrink them due to size, but part of me doesn't see the point of modifying what the camera saw. Now that I think about it, it's kind of a silly position to take, as there are times the camera doesn't actually do an accurate job of representing what my eye saw. And there are certainly some really creative edits that people have done that look incredible, but it feels wrong somehow. A good example of the camera doing screwy things, would be the 2nd shot in post #70. The scene was incredible to be sure, and the colors were ridiculous, but the aperture did some weird things to the colors of the rocks. There was some smoke in the background of the canyon, and because that was my focal point, it was trying to adjust for it overexposing. When I got home, the shot jumped out at me, and most people really like it, but it looks like it was shopped. If I knew what I was doing, I probably could have adjusted for those conditions, but then I might not have had that result, and it's certainly an interesting image.
I know! Hence it making me dizzy. Ever since I got my head run over at IRP, I get dizzy if I turn my head upside down. Don't ask me why looking at an image has the same effect. Dain bramage I'm sure.
Love that Golden at the top....awesome. The yoga is pretty special too, but just in case that's your S.O., I won't say more.
Some of my better snaps. I have an old D60 I play with. Nothing special, but I like cool shots! Yellowstone buffalo I snuck a shot of while hammering the brakes Mountain Goat in Yellowstone (Mt. Washburn) Little crabby in Gulf Shores, AL Some wild ass action in South Dakota Bald Eagle in Yellowstone Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone Birdy in Gulf Shores Funny perspective Grand Canyon
Anybody know a quick and dirty way to shrink a file size? Most of my shots are 5meg or more, so can't really post most of the good ones.
I have a version of the old "image resizer" utility installed. Right click on an image, or group and resize on the spot. It's 3rd party now. It used to be a windows 'add-on'.
Not a good effort as I was just playing with a new lens and seeing how fast it could do under crappy clouds. But a cool angle IMO if anyone is there.
This is one of the best shots I've taken... with my phone. I couldn't get nearly as good of a shot with the Nikon Lake Michigan sunset:
