Spies looks very confident for the race, and Hayden did a few fast laps too. Colin up there as well but he tends to fade in the races when he's up there. I got a feeling Hayden and Spies will battle.
Just had a quick chat with Scott Redding, 2nd on the Moto2 grid this weekend: http://extras.motogpod.com/20101015.sredding.pi.mp3 -jim
Assuming that Stoner keeps it on two wheels past turn 4 it appears that he'll run away with the race. Good for the Americans to find a decent pace all ahead of Valentino.
Well, at least untill the green flag drops - last week was the 11th to first charge, should be fun watching tonight...
We'll.... Pedrosa isn't going to race....and Caprix has been found unfit after his Highside in Q. Currently it is 52.2F and the wind is blowing at 24mph...with gusts over 31mph. There is a 30% chance of rain today. It looks like an almost identical day to yesterday. I got a feeling it's going to be called a wet race.....this should be good!
Read on motomatters that Ben set his fast lap in the middle of a race simulation and says he can maintain his qualifying pace for the whole race. Stoner seems to be on a different planet, but I'd love to see Spies beat Lorenzo in a heads up battle!
Even if stoner and Lorenzo run away with it (50/50 chance of that), the race for 3, 4 and 5 could be epic. But Stoner often disappoints.
Stoner has led every lap at Phillip Island for the last three years. I think he's going to extend that streak this weekend.
Here's my vote. Stoner can't get away from of Ben...and Ben breaks him. That will be the start of the Spies Generation and boy racers everywhere will dream of growing up to be "The Predator". Starting this weekend these guys will learn what Mladin, and Haga learned.
http://www.motogp.com/en/Live+Video just went live ... Guess what? It's wet and windy. Surprise, surprise... -jim
