Is there anywhere I could race a 1986 GSXR750 in Socal? Also, dumb question. Does anybody race one and are they still competitive with the newer bikes at all?
Yep , V6 Vintage 6 Pre-1990 Factory RR up to 750cc Pre-1990 OHC 2-valve per cylinder up to 1200cc Pre-1990 OHC 4-valve per cylinder up to 1100cc Pre-1990 OHC 5-valve per cylinder up to 1050cc Among the eligible V6 machines are the following: Honda-Interceptor VF700/VF750/VF1000F, R, CBR600/750/1000,CB1100F, NT650 Hawk regardless of year, RS250 up to 1990; Kawasaki-Ninja 600/750/900, GPZ1100,ZX7/ZX10, Suzuki-GS1100F, Kantana 1000/1100, GSX-R 750/1100 except 1989 GSXR 1100, Yamaha FJ1100/FJ1200, and Seca 900.FZR750/1000 except 1989 FZR 1000, FZR600 regardless of year, TZ750 alloy frames mono shock, TZ250 up to and including 1990. Vintage 6 machines must run the stock frame. Period front end and wheels must be maintained. Modernized bodywork may be used to incorporate a required belly pan. Vintage 6 machines may use 6-piston brake calipers. No newer machines may be run regardless of similiarity to a bike that is age-legal for the class, unless specifically listed in the eligible machines list above. Bob
