Sharks on TV....I'm totally glued to it and cannot walk away.

 

It used to be a fun week that the family and I would watch almost every year. Quite a few of the shows are so ridiculous now that I gave up on it. Unless it changed again over the last couple years.

 

I thought they renamed it to "The Real Sharks Of The Ocean," you know, to better reach their core demographic.

We've got whales up close and personal. 5 miles away.

 

My 7 year old is all about it. But it's getting very "reality" and less planet earthy to what it was 10 years ago.

 

Yall need to see the episode from last night. "Open ocean, great white" or something like that. No spoilers but you have to see the luckiest dude on the ocean! Insane!

Freaked the girls out a *wee* bit to learn there are great whites lurking in the waters they’ve been on, on their uncle’s boat.

It sounds like some of you people are saying that Shark Week… jumped the shark!

 

Sharknado I - V are among the best documentaries ever made.

 

The contrived drama is ridiculous anymore. Have a few friends on Discovery shows and they are no more real than MTV is music. On a Weather channel show I had a few friends tell me the producer would be telling the camera guys to ask leading questions or provoking drama right in front of them. Maybe 10% science and valid interactions max.

 

I consciously avoided that joke
