Additional discussion about the repave in here. Doesn't sound like it's motorcycle-safe yet from some of the comments.

 

We will be riding at Nelson in July. I did my first race there, and can't wait to go back.

 

I'm 35 min away from the track this summer. I may go hang out there during the trackday just for fun.

 

Just this summer? Internship?

I'm about 40 mins from the track, South of Cleveland. I would definitely like to see how things run at any bike event(s) they put on, and also take a look at the shower/bathroom facilities. I presume they'll be building something to replace the stuff they knocked down.

There's also the shooting range about a mile away.

 

Rest assured that there will be very experienced officials on hand.

 

Faster track but still same run off?

 

My prediction is that before too long there will be enough ripples, dips, bumps, etc in the new surface that increased speed and lack of runoff won't be any more of an issue than when WERA was last there. As long as there aren't chucks coming loose and large pieces being tossed up by hot tires, we should be fine to go back there and race.
