2012 was the first year of the PPIHC race being fully paved, so we had to race it on sportbikes right? I have raced the past 17 years with many different clubs and have held expert and pro licenses. We raced the streets of Steamboat back in the day which was a true roadrace but I really had no idea what to expect from the hill climb.
It did not dissappoint! If you ever get a chance to come and race or to spectate a good time will be had.
I want to thank my good friend Chris Sorensen for editing the video and adding the music from his band Vaux.

Great video! I would have also loved to see/hear the same video without the music so we can hear the motor.

I am not sure if the TT course would scare me more than this or less. Some of those drops would have me rolling of the throttle pretty bad. The thought of having time to think about how many injuries your going to have while flying through the air after f'ing up a high speed turn and going over the edge give me the chills.

That's why you don't think about it until you're at the summit

I have thought the same thing

I have never ridden Pikes Peak so I can't really compare

What I can say from observation is that the TT course is so much more ridiculously faster than Pikes Peak and much much longer.

However, I too, notice my fear of heights coming into play when watching the onboard and just seeing a dropoff

Drop off with no guardrail....brick wall with no padding.....is there really that much of a difference? :D

I rode around 70-80% of my skill level. I felt very comfortable and in control for about 95% of the mountain :D
