Motul 300v vs 7100 whats the difference?

    Our WPS rep told us the 7100 has a lower ash (Zinc Dialkyl-Dithio-Phosphate) content compared to 300v. He suggested that the 7100 be used in bikes with a cat and 300v for racebikes or ones without. Apparently the ZDDP can destroy a catalytic converter faster. Though I suppose it shouldn't really be a problem unless the bike burns a lot of oil.

    Back in the day, Dave Wolman told us to go 2 parts semi synth to 1 part full synth (300V).
