I can't help but laugh watching the Lorenzo nut swingers try and make excuses after they bag on Rossi for every misstep.

  6. What? There was a dry line with wet tires. Of course the tire is going to fall apart. It is a normal wear pattern for that condition. It's impressive anyone got to the finish line like that at all with the soft rain front.

The line wasn't dry enough for any tire other than a wet. Regardless, a tire should do two things for its entire life, remain round and remain balanced. Normal wear would include wearing down the tread layer only, shedding huge chunks of tread is NOT normal wear.

  8. Disagree. Half way through the race the conditions should have been intermediates but they're completely "unproven" and no one wants to use them. A soft rain tire is not going to stay together with a semi dry line. You can argue all you want but that's what happened in the race. Every front soft rain tire you saw a picture of was destroyed.

Michelin is contracted to provide tires which perform to a certain standard. They failed. Dovi went out on the inters, they didn't work. You are trying very hard to make a product failure normal and predictable. Your argument is analogous to having a riders brake pads chunk and then saying, "brake pads aren't supposed to be subjected to heat and rain, the rider should manage that better" instead of saying heat and rain may be encountered while racing.

Tires are always going to be a trade off. It's what makes the strategy important. I really soft tire will be faster earlier in the race but will wear out and possibly fail before the end of the race. Harder tires will be slower early but will last longer.

Ingenious! It's a rain tire for the first half of the race, then when the track dries, it sheds its tread and becomes a slick!

Wearing out is one thing, failing is another. Your chassis SHOULDN'T fail mid race, your brakes SHOULDN'T fail mid race nor should your tires. There should be an ideal tire that provides an optimal balance between performance and longevity, a tire which will provide more performance for a shorter period of time or one which provides a lower level of performance for a longer duration. There should NEVER be a tire which self destructs, this isn't "Get Smart"!

How would you make a tire that doesn't fail? A soft rain tire that's supposed to last 30 laps in cool, downpour conditions will certainly fail if ridden in warm, drying conditions.

:stupid:Lorenzo fucked up bad. This one is all on him! You can't call Rossi out and then make excuses for Lorenzo.

They do that. I believe they call they call it the Medium. The riders are free to choose that tire if the like.

Yeah, there's a reason there's a strategy to picking the right tire compound, because they generate heat at different rates but also degrade at different rates too. This is a well known thing. Rob, you know this. You watch enough racing to understand there's a risk in picking the wrong tire compound, especially in the rain.

Delamination is structural failure,it's not normal wear .

    Dear weather,
    How about some dry races?
    Thank you and f*ck you.
