Damn, who would have thought getting a factory involved would lead to less money in the paddock

Wasn't Warhorse pretty much out the door because of the BMW stop sale impacting their dealerships, or was that a different team?
If it was them, Ducati screwing over their team might be enough for them to say fuckitall for good.

Who? Anyone that thought it through is who. But apparently that wasn’t the case. OF being a porn site isn’t going sit well with a lot of potential sponsors.

What potential sponsors? Seems like the team was pretty set on sponsorship when they had a team livery and name reveal just prior to the season starting.

Keep in mind, OF has been the main sponsor for American Racing in Moto2 for two seasons now. No issues there.

Any potential sponsors. And, with American Racing, it’s not known if there were any issues from other sponsors…it’s not being discussed in public. Btw, seen any other teams in Moto 2, Moto 3, MotoGP, or any in WSBK accept a OF sponsorship…even a minor one. OF has the $$$ to be a title sponsor tomorrow. How many series would accept that you think.

Once a Wanker.. Always a Wanker!

I saw the OF logo on a Supercross racer on last night's Birmingham race. Didn't catch who it was.

OF isnt a damn porn site. Its got porn yes, but its a "platform for creators" you go make an account and do whatever you want and OF takes a cut. sucks a perception has led to this situation for warhorse

Don't you think it's a little disingenuous to say that OF is "just" a content creation platform? They have the reputation they do for a reason.

YouTube is also just a content creation platform, but you don't hear guys saying "yeah she does YouTube" with the same connotation as OF.

Not surprised, it’s $$$. And, it’s kinda sorta a grey area at the moment. Only going to take a few objections and it will disappear. Like tobacco companies disappeared.

Dude, that’s exactly what it is. Where do you think they got the money to offer sponsorships. Not from average Joe’s showing how to build a backyard deck. LOL

It doesn't matter if there were issues from potential secondary sponsors. They have the money from the primary sponsor. You need money to operate a business.
Wouldn't make any sense to kick your main funding in hopes someone else can fill that hole. Especially right before the season starts.

Not really sure what you are trying to say with asking why they don't sponsor other teams/riders.
Personally, I think a lot of teams would welcome almost any brand that is willing to fund a large portion of their budget.

    This.

That said, all these people who 'object' to OF advertising on race teams are probably customers, and not for just regular 'content'. It started with a core of a specific kind of content, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say adult content is the biggest revenue generator for them. Maybe they've had second thoughts about that, and are trying to become more like Youtube, but I haven't heard of them actually moving away from allowing adult content.

So, I've literally never been on that site until just now. Front page has nothing but skeezy looking chicks on it. Nothing that would give you the impression that it's anything but skeezy chicks.

Sitting there chatting with JH2 , Its OFTV that he's got all his content on. He still has them as a personal sponsor. I said put OFTV on the damn bike then. Lots of $$$ just went out of the paddock.

So, back in 2021 they announced they were no longer supporting adult content due to pressure from banks that processed their payment. Unsurprisingly, that was quickly reserved when the creators and customers who made them all of their money voiced their concerns.
To make banks happier and to begin rehabbing their public image they launched OFtv which is a completely SFW website that's primary focus is video content. This is where people like Herrin post.
Now, it is interesting that rather than putting OFtv on the side of bikes they are using the main branding which of course leads to the stigma.

Does it matter? No potential sponsors of the series or other teams are going to be turned away by 1 team having an OF sponsor. As far as whether the OF sponsorship costs the sponsored team other secondary sponsors… who cares? That’s up to the team to determine whether the trade off is worth it.

I do find it ironic that the manufacturer was up until very recently covertly sidestepping the sponsorship rules haha

Yeah, I'm not objecting to it as a sponsor. I literally just went onto the site to see if it's changing, but nope pretty OF-y content.

I get some of the manufacturers not being associated with that stuff. But I don't know what the answer is when teams are struggling for sponsors as is. The sport is either not popular enough or too expensive for mainstream brands to support, probably a bit of both.
