    Sean,
so I can change the shim stacks for compression and rebound, and change springs for superstock...

Can I get a repaired fork tube coated with something other than chrome?

Reason: Chroming is extremely hazardous to the environment and buying a new tube would be more expensive than coating the repaired(meaning straightened, then ground, then polished, then coating)tubes. Many companies are switching to non-chrome surfaces because they are having to buy back the parts after their useful lives are over.

No, you cannot get your fork ti-nitride or any other nifty process coated. They must have the same coating as stock.

You do get extra points though for your arguments, the environmental impact was a nice touch (although not very effective considering what one weekends worth of race exhaust, spilled gasoline and spilled oil does).

As soon as the motorcycle manufacturers start doing a buy back of all used fork tubes we might consider it.
