I heard you can put F3 internal in too. So does the whole cartride just bolt in? Any snags along the way? I want to maybe do this to my street SV. I have a GSXR front on my race bike
nothing just bolts in when you going to catridge. if you do go with some other bike catridges you have to do more mods and also whole revalve respring deal.on the end it is better to just buy something made for it.been ak20 or damping stuff(rods,emulators...).
Gotcha. I was being naive in thinking that, but I agree that nothing just bolts in from another machine.
If you are gonna do the AK-20...why not just throw in them gas cartridges. Its all about the bling! That's why I'm gonna chrome my wheels cause I can't afford them blingy BST carbon fiber wheels.
Katana Internals do just bolt in. Don't listen to the 'foreigner' he don't drink good beer and wont chase hookers. AK-20 is the best route. I did the Katana Interals because: 1. I had a set laying around (I owed one 99, so don't tell anyone) 2. Todd and I were bored 3. We had been drinking 4. Because it was there... You loose your adjustable preload but you gain the ability to change your stiffness on the fly. (there's a joke in there somewhere)....
Does Traxxion make AK-20s that bolt into the 1st gen too? Last I saw they only had them for the 2nd gen.
The threads on the caps are different I know. The 1st gens are KYB and the 2nds are Showa, if that makes any difference.
Canadian SV Cup requires you to use the stock front forks. Looking for options for the front end. I think it has racetech emulators in there now, but I weigh 240 and it is sprung for a 130 pound girl.... AK20's look interesting. Who has rode on them?
Do your club allow for you to make the needed changes for the AK-20 cartridges to go in? The way Max got adjustable rebound is through the use of a jam nut on the fork cap. Make sure that is legal.
