Somebody slap MYYYYYY PRECIOUSSSSS on there...that's what it looks like... But Chip gets my vote so far...
i was there as well, just suited up and started to pull out of the garage when i saw the clouds/lightning barreling in. got the bike loaded just in time to see everyone's canopies go flying. that was a helluva storm
so whats the status of the track right now? i really wanna ride there on saturday but i dont actualy have a personel watercraft. anybody know?
That is some funny shit! That pic of the chick is from the Superbike weekend (seen it on Soup) but I know the private trackday was crazy as one of my friends was there and sent me pic's on his phone of his van in some high water. I was on my way up 314 when I hit the rain, I turned around and headed back to Columbus!
I know all you fookers are enjoying the humor, as am I, but if anyone has any info. on the condition of the track that'd be lovely  If not...well, carry on
For those that wondered why Mid-Ohio was under water, check out these photos taken by Vicki Smith (of the Ducati list) in Mansfield, which is only a few miles from Mid-Ohio. Looks like Mid-O got off easy! http://ducati.smugmug.com/Other And for more fun with flash floods, check out these shots from a Moto Guzzi rally in Minnesota: http://picasaweb.google.com/mmeives/MinnesotaRally2007
I live about 45 minutes south of Mid-O. We didn't have any flooding, but it has rained a lot over the past week. However, it's been really dry all year, so my guess is the water receeded pretty quickly. I'd call Mid-Ohio just to make sure 1-800-MID-OHIO.
I fuggin' did, of course, but it's not like they sit by the damn phone all day long. I'm sure someone would have returned my call soon but if I can get an answer on here before that happen than I don't have to go thinkin' "am I gonna waste my Saturday driving 2 1/2 hrs both ways for no reason"? Anyway, I just called the track, again, and the person who answered told me that all is well in the state of Mid-O; they've drained the track and Saturday is lookin' migety fine
i hope they take a street sweeper to the flooded sections of track. that looks like it could have left a bit o dust there for us to slide around on. dirt trackin on a 600 supersport anyone?
I was up at mid-ohio this monday for a trackday, and they had to close the track around 3:30 for lightning. By 4PM there was 18 inches of standing water in the parking lot behind the garages... We huddled up with our bikes in the garages for an hour before it let up. Note to self: never post picture holding dry erase board.
