^^^ Thanks It's for my race car. It dawned on me that if I couldn't find a chain that long the previous owner wouldn't have been able to either(chain was new when I got the car two years/one race season ago). Went out and looked, yep two master links. They're rivet links so I'm saying it's ok. Just wish DID had a few more very similar designations for their chains. What I actually needed was a VXMX which is different from the VX.
I bet any shops that cater to dragracers would have several chains in bulk and would be able to cut you a custom length
With a 25' length of bulk chain, you would get not quite three 170 link chains. You could likely sell off the rest or save a second chain and sell the last 7' to someone. That's two 170 link chains plus another 140 links (which you could put on a street bike?), which might be a safety stock for your race car and a street bike.
