Just finished this up as a winter project. Tore it down and repainted the frame. Replaced all the gaskets on the motor (oil pan, case covers, starter, etc). Wheels and passenger pegs powder coated and new bearings. Nee master cylinders and rebuilt calipers. Aftermarket fairings from Auctmart. Windscreen has a color shift appearance that works well with the brown fairings. All of the lights have a smoke tint to them. New seat cover and CoreMoto brake lines. I'm sure I'm missing a few things.
I refreshed my track bike this season. Came out really nice if I do say so myself. I added a new Brembo RCS 17, an R&R Rear Subframe, new chain and sprocket set up, and all new fairings for a fresh new look. Old look—- New Look——- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
1986 bikes. Old pic, Immediately pre-cancer diagnose.....everything went to a standstill for a year. Just pic'd up a 3rd one #DaveK . Will start the museum grade detailing/refresh/touch-ups, soon, when i feel little better.
Beautiful! I had two 1986 versions in my youth, demolished one unfortunately and sold the second one to help pay for college. I wish I would have kept the second one but I am sure we all have those regrets.
Thanks, As for suspension wise it has the factory valved ohlins forks, factory rear ohlins shock, factory link and rod adjuster, factory adjustable swingarm pivot. Also a bsb/Wsbk swingarm that is a little longer than the oem. Hopefully when I get it dialed in it handles like it's on rails. The gusseted frame should also make it stiffer and have better feel on the front. That is all hopefully. Lol.
Very nice. Had an acquaintance in Raleigh that had one of those new in '86. Took it to Tally to run a WERRA event with a good friend that was running one of the original 600 Hurricanes that year. The first time you hear a dry clutch, you cannot believe the bike isn't about to grenade.
I purchased pretty much the complete bike from someone in england and had it shipped over. Then put it together over here. Only thing that is original oem is the clutch cable. All the rest is bsb/wsbk spec parts.
If you’re anywhere close to GMD Computrack Atlanta, Kent has the numbers from the Graves Link/Ohlins. He setup 2 of them that were like cheating. I miss that bike everyday..
