But that would mean that I would lose the ability to reduce the spring load if I needed to.

 

I’d call a suspension technician to have that conversation. I’ve used many, and GMD Computrack Boston (Peter Kates) is very helpful over the phone. Be mindful, most techs will say spring weight is not about rider weight. It’s about speed. I’m 240 lbs. without fear and Stephano Messa (look him up) uses stiffer springs than me.
