When I broke my collarbone in 2013, it cost me personally about $5,000. That would of bought me two suits so when you think about it that way it's not that expensive. I still don't own one because I wouldn't be able to swing $2,000 on a suit and still be able to pay for entry fees that year. The only way I was able to pay for my medical bills previously was due to making payments. Maybe Dainese, Alpinestars, etc. should start doing that...

Just my deductible was 2,497.

You might be right. However the majority of my injuries happened long before I ever sat on a bike.
