Yep....after a year of travel lacrosse,my daughter wasn't having any fun and she looked at me and said "I'd rather be home riding dirtbikes with you"............nuff said,we were done.
Yeah man, my kid just made one of the most cut throat and selective in the area and we'll see. I'm about burned out on the parents and practice hasn't even started. If it's fun, cool. the moment it isn't, we're done.
No report on that. I did have a talk with Joey while I was home. I told him, because he has always been so much bigger than other kids, he has always been told to take it easy, play nice, be gentle. I told him those rules stop on the football field.
That has to have been really tough for him growing up. Boys are naturally rough and tumble, and love to wrestle and play with their buddies. He had to hold all that in so he wouldn’t hurt them. I betcha football will open up a whole new world for him!
First game is Thursday. Picture is from a scrimmage. This is JV football. Defensive line, some offensive line. He says it's good so far. He's not a talkative boy, so info is hard to get.
Ever picture of your son, I can't help but think of Richard Kiel in the original The Longest Yard, "I think I broke his freakin neck". He is so much bigger than the other kids there.
I can't wait to hear about some plays he is making and that he is having a blast. He has a nationwide fan club now.
