Looks like what we call a "stink bug". Don't know the phylum, class, order, family, genus or specie. Relatively new here in NJ...someone told me its an invasive from elsewhere...no science to back it up.
Don't think so? We get stink bugs here seasonally in PA. They are shaped like beetles. This looks more like some kind of moth? Spurge hawk moth?
I'll see your stink bug and raise you with this creepy AF man eating monster. It made itself at home in our pits at Barber the weekend before last. It has a total of 4 wings and some beetle like claws.
