Still a thing, still same day, still 100 miles longer "just because" it had to be longer than Indy.
I don't think anyone is trying to double up today. Don't remember who did that last either.

NASCAR guy Kyle Larson is supposed to try it next year.

1994: John Andretti: 10th (-4) at Indy, 36th (OUT) at Charlotte

1995: Davy Jones: 23rd (OUT) at Indy, DNQ at Charlotte

1997 Robby Gordon: 29th (OUT) at Indy, 41st (OUT) at Charlotte

1999: Tony Stewart: 9th (-4) at Indy, 4th at Charlotte

2000: Robby Gordon: 6th at Indy, 35th (-11) at Charlotte

2001: Tony Stewart: 6th at Indy, 3rd at Charlotte

2002: Robby Gordon: 8th at Indy, 16th (-1) at Charlotte

2003: Robby Gordon: 22nd (OUT) at Indy, 17th (-1) at Charlotte

2004: Robby Gordon: 29th (Gordon didn’t complete the race at Indy due to rain delay) at Indy, 40th (OUT) at Charlotte

2014: Kurt Busch: 6th at Indy, 40th (OUT) at Charlotte

 

Yep… later today. Kyle Larson is in Indy right now following along, he’s trying both races next year, Kyle Busch is considering the dual in 25.

Very scary....I missed it live, hopefully no one was hurt.

The in car camera facing the driver was pretty spectacular......

 

It just missed the stands. That could have been bad.

 

When I posted that, even the commentators over here had not noticed it yet. I was sitting here wondering "is it just me? How is no one terrified right now?"

 

Nobody got hit and died...that could have ended way different.

 

Looking at the slow motion replay it looks like the tire was farther away from the spectators than I thought at first.
Also looks like it bounced pretty damn high after hitting whatever it was that it landed on, kind of tough to see.

 

Why do we care about the wives.

 

Youngster O' Ward put himself in a bad spot..partially not scrubbin in rubber ..then tried to (bring it).. too soon.

The reply 2nd place Ericksyon Honda looked like it had straightaway power and jumped past pronto like....

I hate these last lap shootouts...kinda let downs the spirit of the whole race.

That's why drag racings the BEST... lol

 

Crashfest...these guys have been watching NASCAR.

He probably should have won this thing under caution but.....
