I'm no lawyer, but I do listen to alot of podcasts and this is pretty typical of the state. They hardly ever go to trial, so they charge you with everything under the sun, even if the charges overlap, or are total BS, and then hope to plead it down to something more reasonable.

 

Yep,and from my understanding the charge gets thrown around pretty easily.
From what I have read it resembles kidnapping in some states with the amount of time you could possibly receive in jail.
I knew a guy who was charged after talking a very drunk lady home.
12 plus glasses of wine. She became violent and pressed charges.
The cop helped her with her drunken police report.
It was thrown out in court later
