PJ Harvey Rid of Me I dig her style still after all these years… she was in Peaky Blinders a bit along with Nick Cave who I never liked… saw him with the Bad Seeds at a lalapalooza and wasn’t impressed seems like I saw PJ at some festival too… don’t remember where now…
Can't remember what year I changed the title of this thread but. . . this thread, screwing IYC since 2011.
You’d think I’d remember the name or learn how to bookmark it or something…. Every time I try to search for it I can’t find it… does it’s have an apostrophe in the title… is it Friday or someday or some day… and screw you IYC brings up a million results so that’s no help
You can get the correct info on just about anything on here. "Does anybody know the part number for the lock washer on my muffler bracket on my granddad's 1948 Edsel"? "Yep.....BR549, call Ed"
Elephant Tree thanks again @cha0s#242 it came on when I was mowing on shuffle(we were discussing unique guitar sounds in that Albini thread) and from the millisecond of the first note you know it’s them… it really resonates with me whatever rig they use…
I thought it was you that suggested Elephant Tree… I remember Porcupine tree too… but… we like similar music… check out Elephant Tree… it’s so damn good
Ah ! Never heard of them, will give them a try. Thanks ! Saw an excellent live show from Finnish / Brit prog metal outfit Wheel last week and it was effing mindblowing. I sure love small venues... the sound was amazing and not too loud !
yeah man… I was rocking out to them again this morning and the sound is really unique to me… the bass and guitar sounds both… let me know what you think as I usually like your suggested selections too try “Attack of the Altaica” from Elephant Tree’s Theia album from 2014 to get a sample of their style and sound… How about All them Witches? They are the closest band that I can compare them to that you may have heard… if you haven’t tried them either by all means check them out too!
Hey it’s actually Friday! 10k Maniacs Unplugged Man this album is so so great… for me it’s mostly the strings as in many things but I didn’t even know about them until watching their performance on MTV who the best thing they ever did was the unplugged series… and Headbangers Ball of course… anyway… I know some of you guys love Natalie Merchant’s voice… I’m not even a fan of it or her solo work really but this album is spectacular
Mahler "Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen" I am working on a fretless bass transcription. Give me a year.
