I had a close look with pscs2 and from a technical pov, I think it has been altered.
What say you?
There are videos on youtube that show praying mantises eating humming birds so I see no reason for this to be photoshopped other than to improve the image, but not edit the content.
I thought this one was shopped too but its the real thing. Fox grabs rabbit then eagle grabs fox.
Actually they both have a grip on the rabbit.
yeah I think the Eagle is making sure he/she gets a two for one.
It looks like the fox is pissing himself.
On another note, I have seen several video of manti's (mantii?) killing and eating humming birds.
The fox gets loose and drops back to the ground.
Wouldn't you if a eagle was picking you up by the head ?
Well that is a surprise! Never thought a mantis would be strong enough to take something that large.
And just a reminder. Bald eagle are big fuckin birds.
I just found the video and HOLY SHIT that little guy gets smoked.
Yep...and IIRC, that was not a full grown fox.
A praying mantis is not venomous, so how did it disable the hummingbird?
Ninja skills...and prayer.
Females go to roughly 14 lbs. The boys are smaller.
I say it's for real...
Video on the youtube thread of a mantis taking a hummingbird...
That bird was a dumb ass.
From the youtube video,it looks like the mantis goes for the throat. Must have very strong mandibles.
Google "golden eagle vs goats".
Isn't it the Mantis female that clips the head off a male once done mating? Yeah, I'd say there's some strength there.
Or mantis females are naturally attracted to males with steeltoe-esque necks.
