Graves Motorsports Introduces Limited-Edition, Race-Prepped Yamaha YZF-R3 For Track Day Customers And Club Racers

Van Nuys, CA - November 2, 2015 – Graves Motorsports has announced that it has developed a specially prepared, close-course-competition Yamaha YZF-R3 racebike, which it is offering in limited numbers to customers interested in participating in track days and club racing events. The announcement was made by Chuck Graves, owner of Graves Motorsports.

Each Graves/Yamaha R3--limited to a production run of 12 units--will be outfitted with a whole host of Graves Motorsports components, including a Graves stainless steel/carbon fiber exhaust system; a Graves chassis and controls protection kit, Graves-spec racing brake lines and racing front brake pads, as well as racing bodywork, a Zero Gravity windscreen, an Ohlins rear shock and Andreani front fork kit, an Ohlins steering damper and Graves mounting kit, an OEM ECU that’s been remapped by FT ECU Inc. specifically to match the Graves exhaust, and the crankcase is filled with Yamalube 15W-30 Full-Synthetic Racing Oil.

“When the Yamaha R3 was first introduced, we immediately saw the potential that the bike had as a track day and club-racing machine,” commented Chuck. “It’s already a fantastic motorcycle in stock form, and it’s a great foundation on which to showcase our Graves Motorsports components. Every Graves Motorsports and aftermarket component that we add to the bike is done specifically to extract the ultimate level of performance and fun from the R3. The Graves/Yamaha R3 is a turnkey package. Each bike comes ready to race on the track or ride at track days.”

Performance of the Graves/Yamaha R3 was increased by 15% over the stock R3, and the bikes are also 12% lighter in weight than stock.

The 12 limited-edition Graves/Yamaha R3 machines will be offered through Graves Racing Services, a special division of Graves Motorsports, and orders are being taken now. Customers who place their orders by November 16 will take delivery of their Graves/Yamaha R3s by December 18.

For more information about the Graves/Yamaha R3, including pricing and a complete list of components utilized in the build, visit www.gravesracingservices.com. Updates to the build list, optional tuning tools and service equipment, and information on how to order, as well as how to request technical or service support, can also be found on the Website.

$10,900 seems very reasonable. Wonder what they could do a full spec Moto America R1 for?

That's about $4000 retail in extras plus labor, doesn't seem like a bad deal.I wonder how it would compete with the KTM390 cup bike?

Yeah I was wondering how much would it be to do the same stuff yourself.

Its less than a basic race build, I dont even see any safety wire.

    Who is Andreani?

I don't think some in here are very well informed about the cost associated with a well sorted bike. ;)

Does it include all the stock stuff? If so it seems reasonable.

Possibly... but with no safety wire, how can they claim this is 'race ready'?

Did you look at the build sheet?

    exhaust 1k
bodywork 500 (maybe more? I don't know how much lightweight bodywork usually is)
    race mapping 400
    shock 900
    fork kit 1200
    windscreen 70
    brake lines + pads 150
    tires 300
    steering damper 500

    bike: $5000
    race shit: $5020

10 grand, then add your $900 graves sticker

It's a few HP under the 390, but close. Should be a nice machine. Keep in mind it's built by some of the best in the country, that is actually worth something.
